Overview
Atmosphere is a simple weather app for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
Data We Access
Location
The app requests your device's location (GPS) solely to provide weather information for your current area. Location data is sent directly to the weather data provider to fetch forecasts and is not stored, logged, or transmitted to any other party.
Search Queries
When you search for a location by name, the search query is sent to the geocoding service to find matching locations. These queries are not stored or tracked by the app.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services to provide weather data:
- Open-Meteo Weather API (open-meteo.com) — provides weather forecasts and current conditions.
- Open-Meteo Geocoding API (open-meteo.com) — converts location names to coordinates.
These services receive your location coordinates or search queries to return weather data. Please refer to Open-Meteo's terms for their data handling practices.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone number)
- No account or login required
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No data shared with third parties beyond weather API requests
Local Storage
The app caches weather data locally on your device to reduce network requests and provide a faster experience. This cached data is stored only on your device and is automatically refreshed.
Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app does not require any personal information to function.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
